Email from Agency

Someone give me a valium.

Just got an email from the agency I sent my full manuscript to seven weeks ago. They apologise for the delay and say it is currently being considered. She promises to get back to me as soon as possible.

There goes my concentration.

That sounds so promising - 'being considered' suggests it's gone on to others who decide. Keeping everything crossed in anticipation. Not surprised the concentration's gone!

Thanks, Tracy. Do you think so? I'm afraid to read too much into it, but it's hard not to get excited. I'm on a rollercoaster, one minute elated the next depressed.

Hi Sandra
I wish I could say for definite but it seems to suggest it - the way I read it.
Whatever it means it is exciting, so DO be excited, because they haven't rejected it. Ok, we're both aware of the difficulties, so sadly without crystal balls we can't predict. I wish I could, for you and me. ;-)
You're so right about the rollercoaster ride, I empathise completely but at least it feels like you're alive when you don't know if you're up or down. Enjoy it as much as you can and feel good about the fact that interest has been shown - I hope you appreciate how difficult it can be to get as far as you've got. So you deserve a big pat on the back and congratulations for getting this far.
Still keeping everything crossed - although it makes it awkward to type. ;-)

It does sound very good to me, Sandra. I mean, why would they take the time to send you an e-mail to say it's being considered? I think it is a very good sign and you have all the reasons to be optimistic about this. I'm so excited for you!

Thanks Lori and Tracy for the support. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Exciting but scary times! :-)

Sandra, this is looking good to me, too. Like Lori said, why would they bother letting you know...?
Good luck. X
